In addition to BOTOX®, Carroll Dermatology also provides a variety of other neurotoxins. Palm Beach patients can also choose from Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau®. Neurotoxins, such as BOTOX®, are purified proteins that temporarily relax targeted muscles by blocking nerve signals. This leads to smoother, more youthful-looking skin without altering your natural facial expressions. In cosmetic medicine, BOTOX® and these other neurotoxins or wrinkle relaxers are used to smooth dynamic wrinkles (the lines that form from repeated facial movements like frowning, squinting, or raising your eyebrows). Common treatment areas include the forehead, between the eyebrows (“11 lines”), and around the eyes (“crow’s feet”).
At Carroll Dermatology, we offer a range of FDA-approved neuromodulators (neurotoxins) that help reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles caused by facial expressions. While BOTOX® is the most widely recognized brand, there are several other neurotoxins, such as Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau®, that deliver similar results, each with unique properties that may suit individual patient needs.
When injected, Jeuveau® temporarily prevents your nerves from telling your facial muscles to flex. The result? In clinical trials, Jeuveau® was shown to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines.
To maintain results, regular treatments every 3 to 4 months are recommended.
These other neurotoxins, as mentioned, can also be used for other areas of the face, such as but not limited to masseters, chin, nose, lips (lip flips or “smoker’s lines”), and platysma bands. You can ask a provider at your appointment if these treatments are right for you.

BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau® are different branded neurotoxins that work in similar ways to temporarily reduce muscle activity. They have differences in formulation, dosing, and other characteristics, so your provider can recommend an option based on your treatment area, facial anatomy, goals, and treatment history.
The duration of results varies by product and individual. BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Jeuveau® generally provide results for approximately 3 to 4 months, although some patients may experience longer- or shorter-lasting effects. Muscle activity, treatment area, dosage, and individual factors can all affect longevity.
Results typically develop gradually over several days rather than appearing immediately. Some patients may begin noticing changes within a few days, while full results can take up to approximately two weeks. Individual response varies by product and patient.
